The Ribo level 1 license is the entry level required to become an insurance broker in Ontario. This license allows you to sell home, business, auto, travel and liability insurance policies in the province of Ontario. If you are looking to start your career as a professional insurance broker, the ribo level 1 course is the perfect place to begin your journey.
Students should be aware that if they pass the RIBO exam but do not find employment in a RIBO registered general insurance brokerage firm within 12 months of passing their RIBO level 1 (under supervision) exam, they will be issued a Level 1 “restricted registration.” A restricted registration does not allow for the establishment of a personal brokerage. After 2 years working as a restricted broker and successful completion of the advanced broker respective exams, this restriction can be removed.
RIBO Level 1: Your Step-by-Step Guide to Success
RIBO announced last fall that it is making significant changes to its broker licensing exams, including an increase of the number of questions and the addition of new subject areas. The changes are intended to enhance the L1 Acting Under Supervision exam and improve broker licensing in a changing landscape. In the future, a new Competency Profile and updated Level 1 exam blueprint will also be introduced.
To prepare for the RIBO level 1 exam, IBAH offers multiple digital RIBO Level 1 courses (Basic Broker Preparation) throughout 2021. Each class will include a comprehensive textbook and frequent term quizzes and review exams in addition to the final RIBO exam.
