Video is a core Theytlab and users associate degradation in quality with their network provider. Mobileum’s YouTube Lab and Testing Tools identifies the user’s real experience directly on their smartphone or data capable device. Using frame level analysis or IP layer analysis we generate KPIs that are centralized and easily visualized for monitoring, troubleshooting and alarming purposes.
Our YouTube Streaming test case is designed to measure a video streaming service on a smartphone or any data capable device capturing the Packet Capture (PCAP) associated with a YouTube session. This test method provides a Mean Opinion Score (MOS) for audio and video, based on MOS-A and MOS-B metrics, in the case of unencrypted streams, and TCP/IP KPIs indicating packet loss, throughput and bitrate.

It allows new test cases to be created within minutes and existing ones to be modified quickly. The flexibility of the SX-LU enables testing of any Android or iOS OTT app providing high level KPIs such as app launch duration, video start delay and content availability.
